
UCLA Sweeps La Verne

The No.2 ranked UCLA men's volleyball team won its fourth straight match, defeating the University of La Verne 3-0 in Pauley Pavilion on Wednesday night.
The Bruins won 30-17, 30-16, 30-21 in 74 minutes before 365 spectators. The victory raised UCLA's record to 4-0. La Verne fell to 1-2.
Junior outside hitter Kris Kraushaar led the Bruins with 10 kills (.750), followed by freshman Steve Klosterman's nine kills (.900) and three total blocks. Klosterman's attack percentage tied a school record. Junior Paul Johnson aced the Leopards three times and added five kills (.308), four total blocks and three digs. Seniors Chris Pena and Marcin Jagoda came off the bench in Game 3 and smacked seven kills apiece.
The Bruins hit .542 for the match and limited the Leopards to an attack percentage of .048, while out-blocking them 10.5-2.0. The Bruins also served six aces to the Leopards' one.
Sophomore Matt Cornell led La Verne with 11 kills, followed by Dwayne Wibeto's seven.
