
UCLA Defeats UC Santa Barbara in four Games

The third-ranked UCLA men's volleyball team will enter the MPSF playoffs having won six of its last seven matches and three straight. Saturday night, the Bruins beat No. 8 UC Santa Barbara 3-1 on the road.
The Bruins won 28-30, 30-26, 30-20, 30-17. The victory raised UCLA's overall record to 23-5, 17-5 in league play. the Gauchos fell to 14-15, 9-13.
Four UCLA players recorded double-digit kills, led by senior Marcin Jagoda who had 18 (.433) and a pair of aces. Senior J.T. Wenger recorded a double-double with 17 kills (.600) and 10 digs. Junior Kris Kraushaar added 11 kills and senior Chris Pena contributed 10 kills (.471) and a pair of aces. Libero Adam Shrader added 10 digs.
The Bruins hit .410 for the match and limited UCSB to a hitting attack of .171, including -.037 in Game 4.
UCLA will host Hawaii in the first round of the MPSF playoffs on Sat., Apr. 24 at 7 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion.
