
Lisa Willis Named UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week

Senior guard Lisa Willis (Long Beach, CA/Narbonne HS) of the UCLA Women's Basketball Team was selected as the UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week (Dec. 19-25).
Willis tied her career-high with 31 points in the Bruins' 79-64 win over Oregon State on Dec. 22 and added a career-high nine steals (fourth-best total in school history) with six rebounds and a season-best six assists. Willis scored 16 of her 31 points in the final 4:22 of the game, turning a close three-point game into a 15-point victory. In the 82-63 win over Oregon on Dec. 20, she had six steals in 29 minutes of play and scored nine points with three boards, helping the Bruins run up an Oregon opponent season-high 82 points on 51.5% shooting from the field. The Ducks had entered the game as the second-ranked team in the nation in field goal percentage. Willis continues to lead the Pac-10 in scoring with a 20.3 average. She has scored 20+ points in seven of UCLA's 11 games.
This is Willis' first UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and second of her career.
