Box Score

Eugene, Ore. - UCLA dropped a 76-60 decision to Oregon in Eugene on Thursday evening. Noelle Quinn led the Bruins with 16 points and eight rebounds, but UCLA could not overcome a career night from Oregon's Tamika Nurse, who scored a personal-best 22 points. Foul trouble plagued the Bruins against the Ducks, who shot 23 free throws to UCLA's nine.

The Bruins stayed close to Oregon in the first half and led 30-29 with 4:06 remaining in the half after an Amanda Livingston layup, but Oregon regained the lead and closed the half up 34-30.

With 9:15 to play in the first half, Oregon extended its lead to 10, 56-46, on a play in which Quinn picked up her fourth foul. A Julia Pitts layup and a three-pointer by Shaina Zaidi trimmed Oregon's lead to five with 7:02 to play, but the Ducks went on a 7-0 run in the next minute and a half to increase their lead to 12, 63-51, with 5:29 to play. The last basket in that run, by Nurse, was the last field goal made by the Ducks, who scored their final 13 points at the charity stripe.

Both teams were extremely efficient at the foul line, with Oregon shooting 95.7% (22-23) and UCLA shooting 88.9% (8-9). The Ducks shot 44.4% from the field, while UCLA shot 38.7%.

Joining Quinn in double figure scoring was Lindsey Pluimer, who scored 13 with six rebounds. Four Ducks had double-digit point totals - Nurse with 22, Carolyn Ganes with 14, Cicely Oaks with 12 and 10 rebounds, and Eleanor Haring with 11.

UCLA (12-12, 6-6) will next face Oregon State in Corvallis on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 7 pm. Oregon (12-8, 4-7) hosts USC.
