Athens, Ga. - Junior Tracy Lin pulled off a big upset in singles, while UCLA's Yasmin Schnack and Riza Zalameda needed a three-set win in doubles, as everyone advanced to the round of 16 at the NCAA Championships on Thursday at Georgia's Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

Lin, unseeded in the 64-player singles draw, defeated eighth-seeded Megan Moulton-Levy of William & Mary, 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 in the second round. A day earlier she downed South Carolina's Gira Schofield, 7-6(4), 6-2 in the opening round. Next up for Lin is a meeting with Florida's Csilla Borsanyi in the round of 16.

Schnack and Zalameda were able to recover from a difficult first set to eventually defeat Kentucky's Joelle Schwenk/Kim Coventry, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. They will meet Clemson's Ani Mijacika/Federica van Adrichem in the round of 16 on Friday.

Both UCLA men's tennis players lost in three sets in the first round on Wednesday, as Chris Surapol fell to sixth-seeded Arnau Brugues of Tulsa, and Haythem Abid was beaten by 9-16 seed Luis Flores of Georgia.
