Viuf Picks Up NCAA Qualifier In The Pole Vault At NAU Classic

Junior Kay Viuf opened up her 2009 indoor season on a high note as she won the pole vault competition at the NAU Classic in Flagstaff, AZ with an NCAA qualifying mark.

Viuf won the event with a mark of 12-11.75 to achieve the provisional standard. The mark also ties her for the 13th-best vault in the NCAA this season.

Also in Flagstaff, junior Tori Pena was second with a mark of 12-6.

The women will next head to Seattle, WA for the MPSF Indoor Championships, February 27-28.
