LOS ANGELES - The fifth-ranked UCLA women's tennis team will take on Sacramento State on Sunday for a spot in next month's USTA/ITA National Team Indoors, as the Bruins cruised to a 4-0 opening-round win during ITA Kick-Off Weekend at the Los Angeles Tennis Center on Saturday.
After winning the doubles point, UCLA started strong in singles, claiming the first set on all six courts. Carling Seguso (court No. 6), Courtney Dolehide (court No. 3) and Andrea Remynse (court No. 2) each posted straight-set victories to give the Bruins the 4-0 win.
UCLA and Sacramento State will square off at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow. The winner of that contest advances to the USTA/ITA National Team Indoors, Feb. 18-21 in Charlottesville, Va.
San Diego (1-1) and Pepperdine (0-1) will meet in a consolation match at 10:00 a.m.
