Bruins Finish Third at Pac-10 Championship

The No. 2 ranked UCLA men's golf team placed third at the 52nd Pac-10 Men's Golf Championship, hosted at the Stanford Golf Course in Palo Alto, CA.
The Bruins posted a team score on Sunday of 348 (-2) for a 72-hole total of 1,418 (+18). Stanford finished fourth at 1,420 (+20) and Cal was fifth at 1,437 (+37). USC and Oregon tied for first place at 1,415 (+15) and were in a playoff at press time.
Individually for the Bruins, junior Alex Shi Yup Kim captured top team honors, placing third at 277 (-3) following a final round of 68 (-2). Sophomore Patrick Cantlay tied for ninth place at 283 (+3) after his Sunday round of 71 (+1). Sophomore Pontus Widegren tied for 11th place at 284 (+4) after posting a team best score of 66 (-4) on Sunday. Sophomore Pedro Figueiredo fired a final round 67 (-3) and tied for 22nd at 287 (+7). Junior Gregor Main tied for 30th place at 290 (+10) following a score of 76 on Sunday and senior Connor Driscoll tied for 56th at 305 (+25).
Tied for first place at five-under par 275 were USC's Martin Trainer and Oregon State's Alex Moore. Both players carded scores of 70 (E) on Sunday prior to their playoff.
The Pac-10 Men's Golf Championship is a 72-hole event with six-count-five scoring.
