Jonathan Clark, Bo Taylor and the 4x100m relay team picked up the final spots for the Bruin men at the upcoming NCAA Outdoor Championships as competition wrapped up at the NCAA Preliminary Round in Eugene, OR on Saturday.

In all, the Bruins qualified six individuals and the 4x100m relay to the NCAA Championships, held June 8-11 in Des Moines, IA at Drake University. Heading to Iowa in two weeks are Dyce (200m), Cory Primm (800m), Mike Woepse (pole vault), Clark (triple jump), Taylor (discus) and Alec Faldermeyer (hammer).

Clark only needed one jump to punch his ticket to NCAAs in the triple as his opening mark of 51-11.75 guaranteed him a spot at the meet in two weeks. On his second attempt, Clark improved to 52-2 and finished fifth overall. He will be competing in his third NCAA Outdoor Championship in the triple. Sophomore Dillon Stucky, also in the triple jump, finished 35th with a mark of 48-6.25 and does not advance to NCAAs.

In the discus, Taylor had a huge day as he posted a season-best by over two feet with a toss of 187-4 to qualify for the NCAA Championships. He finished the prelim rounds in second-place and opted to pass on his final three throws in the finals. Taylor ended up finishing in fourth overall. The senior will be competing in his third and final NCAA Outdoor meet. Also in the discus, freshman Matthew Kosecki finished 26th with a throw of 166-5 and does not advance to NCAAs.

Dyce qualified for his first NCAA Championships in an individual event on Saturday as he punched his ticket as the fastest non-automatic qualifier during the quarterfinal rounds of the 200m. His time of 21.03 was seventh-best during the competition.

The 4x100m relay team of juniors Jamal Alston and Karlton Rolle, Dyce and freshman R.J. Frasier finished second in heat one (40.25) to automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships. The foursome was seventh overall. This will be the third straight year the men's 4x100m relay has advanced to NCAAs. In 2011, the Bruins earned All-American honors in the event after advancing to the finals.
