Men's Cross Country Places 2nd; Women 9th At Stanford Invitational

The UCLA men's cross country team highlighted the Bruin harriers on Saturday at the Stanford Invitational as the men finished second in the team competition, while the women placed ninth. Stanford won both the men's and women's team crowns.
The Bruin men had three runners finish in the top 10 during the 8k race as sophomore Dustin Fay was the No. 1 runner, finishing seventh in a time of 24:04. Senior Kent Morikawa finished just behind Fay, placing eighth with a time of 24:15, while junior Zack Torres rounded out the top 10 Bruin finishers with his 10th-place run of 24:20. Redshirt freshman Chase Zukerman (11th, 24:22) and senior Dylan Knight (20th, 24:29) rounded out the top five runners for the men. The Bruins finished second with 52 points, while the Cardinal scored 27.
On the women's side, junior Katja Goldring was the top finisher for the Bruins as she placed 27th with a time of 21:34 on the 6k course. Freshmen Sarah Toberty (34th, 21:40) and Annie Mooney (57th, 22:05) were the No. 2 and No. 3 runners, respectively, for UCLA. Redshirt frosh Kelsey Smith (83rd, 22:39) and sophomore Caitlin Schmitt (100th, 22:39) rounded out the top five runners for the Bruins.
