
Bruins Begin the Day in First Place

The UCLA women's golf team begins round two of the Northrup Grumman Regional Challenge today in first place at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.
The Bruins, who tee off at 10 a.m. from the first tee, are looking to extend their two-shot lead over Duke and Florida at the annual Spring season opener on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Following yesterday's first round, the Bruins' score of 288 (+4) led the Blue Devils and Gators (290, +6). USC was fourth at 298 (+14), followed by Texas at 299 (+15).
Senior All-American Tiffany Lua returned to the UCLA lineup and has inspired her teammates. Lua posted a score of 72 (+1) and was tied for ninth place along with sophomore Erynne Lee. Freshman Louise Ridderstrom was tied for second place at even par 71. Senior Lee Lopez and junior Ani Gulugian were tied for 14th after posting scores of 73 (+2).
Ridderstrom was tied with seven other players one shot off the leader, Duke's Alejandra Cangrejo.
