2002-03 - In cross country, Barrientos was UCLA's second-highest placement at both the NCAA (86th, 21:10.1) and Pac-10 (9th, 21:11), earning second-team All-Pac-10 honors ... Placed 28th (22:25) at the Regional meet ... Redshirted in outdoor track.
2001-2002 -- As a true freshman in cross country, Barrientos was the top UCLA finisher on four different occasions... Highest placement was third at the Griak Invitational on Sept. 22... Finished 23rd (fourth highest Bruin finish) at the Pac-10 and 31st (third-highest Bruin finish) at the NCAA West Regional ... Was the second Bruin finisher at the NCAA Championships ... In outdoor track, at the Pac-10, Barrientos scored in the 1500m (5th, 4:26.95, personal-best) and was 12th (18:30.83) in the 5000m ... Ran a team-leading 17:23.26 in the 5000m.
High School -- During her prep career, Barrientos was one of the nation's top female high school distance and cross country runners ... Overcame a stress fracture suffered at the 2000 CA State meet in the 1600m semis, to win the 2001 CA State 1600m crown (4:43.24, high school best), the same title she won as a sophomore in 1999 ... As a senior in spring 2001, Barrientos had the nation's No. 2 time (4:44.89) in the mile ... As a junior in 2000, she earned Track & Field News All-American honors in the mile and 3200m ... In 2000, she was nationally ranked in the 800m (2:09.35, No. 8), mile (4:48.27, No. 3) and 3200m (10:11.19, personal-best, No. 1) ... As a junior, she won the mile at Arcadia ... In April 2000, she ran the anchor leg (4:44) on the national high school record-setting distance medley relay (10:41.27) ... In the fall of 1999, Barrientos won the CA State Cross Country meet, placed sixth in the West Regional and finished 18th at the Footlocker National Championships ...
