
Cross Country Caps Off Regular Season at Titan Invite

FULLERTON, Calif. – The UCLA cross country team capped off its regular season Friday at the Titan Invitational, held on the Cal State Fullerton campus. The UCLA women won the team title while the men competed individually.
For the second straight year Jen Owen was the top finisher for the Bruins, this time placing second and first among collegiate competitors with a time of 18:04.1 on the 5K course.
A pair of Bruins placed fourth and fifth as Rachel Brajkovich ran an 18:18.0 and Kelly Brooks followed with an 18:20.3. Freshman Jessica Cushing-Murray placed 14th at 18:44.9 and was closely followed by fellow newcomer Emily Fieberling in 16th with an 18:48.4.
Running unattached for the Bruins was freshman Katie Sered, who placed 39th overall with a time of 19:45.3.
On the men's side senior Jordan Senko won the event with a time of 24:43.7 on the 8K course. Following in uniform was sophomore Nolan Dickson with a seventh place finish at 25:07.1. Junior Jon Bazinet placed 22nd with a time of 25:37.1 while freshman Max Davis placed 49th at 26:33.7.
Leading the unattached runners for UCLA was Jackson Marshall with a fifth place finish at 24:54.6. Cole Smith placed 46th overall with a time of 26:25.0 while Josh Wilson finished 64th (26:56.5) and John Davies was 81st (27:48.6).
The Bruins will dive into the postseason when they head to Oakland, Calif., for the Pac-12 Championships. The meet is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 31, and will be held at the Metropolitan Golf Links.
