UCLA controlled Friday's match from start to finish, beginning the day by claiming the doubles point for an early 1-0 advantage. After Courtney Dolehide and Chanelle Van Nguyen cruised to an 8-1 victory at the No. 3 spot, top-ranked Robin Anderson and Jennifer Brady clinched the point for the Bruins at court No. 1, dispatching of Lauren Marker and Kim Stubbe, 8-4.
UCLA dominated singles play as well, winning all six matches in straight sets. Wins by Catherine Harrison (court No. 5), Brady (court No. 2) and Van Nguyen (court No. 4) quickly gave the Bruins the four points needed to win the match. The two teams agreed to play out the remaining contests, with UCLA's Kyle McPhillips (court No. 3), Kaitlin Ray (court No. 6) and Anderson (court No. 1) all prevailing.
Saturday's ASU match will be the second to last home contest for the Bruins this season, as UCLA rounds out the regular season at home against USC on Friday, April 18. That match is set to begin at Noon and will be televised live by the Pac-12 Networks (singles only) beginning at 2:00 p.m.
