Third-Ranked Bruins Down Arizona, 4-0 in Tucson

UCLA began the day with wins at the top two courts to claim the one point awarded for doubles play. After freshmen Gage Brymer and Mackenzie McDonald notched an 8-6 victory at court No. 2, the point was clinched at court No. 1, where 67th-ranked Marcos Giron and Karue Sell were 8-3 winners over Naoki Takeda and Sumeet Shinde. UCLA's Michael Guzman and Clay Thompson were knotted at 7-7 with Arizona's Trevor James and Kieran Thompson when play was suspended.
The Bruins dominated singles play as well, quickly posting three-straight wins to clinch the 4-0 victory. Victories by Thompson (court No. 1), Brymer (court No. 4) and Ryoto Tachi (court No. 6) sealed the team's 19th victory of the season.
Sunday's win sets up a thrilling regular-season finale between UCLA and USC on Friday, as the Bruins and Trojans are both undefeated in conference play and the winner will take home this year's Pac-12 title. That match is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at USC's Marks Tennis Stadium.
