
Pole Vault Leads UCLA at Husky Day One

SEATTLE, Wash. – A UCLA top-10 mark and a few event winners highlighted the first day of action at the Husky Classic held Friday evening in the Dempsey Indoor on the University of Washington campus.
Redshirt freshman Greta Wagner posted a personal best of 13-7.25 in the pole vault to win the event. The mark is tied for the 10th best in school history.
In the men's pole vault competition Reed Scale won with a clearance of 16-2. The men's DMR of Sahm Bazargan, Joe Herrera, Arturo Sotomayor and Nolan Dickson won the event with a time of 9:48.92.
In the women's 200m sophomore Jessie Maduka finished second with a time of 24.51 while freshman Anglerne Annelus was fourth in 24.71. In the men's 200m Jonny Moniz was fifth at 21.86 and Joe Herrera was seventh with a 22.10.
Saturday's action will begin at 9 a.m. PT with the women's weight throw and the women's 60m hurdle prelims.
