
Bruins Down Wildcats 6-1

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The 21st-ranked UCLA women's tennis team defeated No. 26 Northwestern on Sunday afternoon. With the 6-1 win, the Bruins improve to 3-1 on the season.
UCLA took an early 1-0 lead when the senior duo of Catherine Harrison and Kyle McPhillips clinched the doubles point on court 1. In singles play, the Bruins expanded their lead with quick, straight-set wins on courts 2 and 5 by McPhillips and sophomore Terri Fleming. Freshman Alaina Miller sealed the deal for UCLA in straights on court 3, giving the Bruins a 4-0 lead.
Next up, the Bruins play a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 13, when they host UC Davis and Cal State Northridge at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.
