EUGENE, Ore. – After dropping the doubles point, the sixth-ranked UCLA men's tennis team registered four straight singles wins to clinch the 4-1 win over No. 26 Oregon. With the win, the Bruins improve to 13-2 on the season and 1-0 in conference play.
Despite early leads on two courts in doubles play, the Bruins were unable to hold on for the wins. Karue Sell and Joseph DiGiulio fell 6-3 to Daan Maasland and Simon Stevens on court 2. Mackenzie McDonald and Maxime Cressy led their Duck opponents 5-4 on court 1 while Gage Brymer and Austin Rapp trailed theirs 4-5 on court 3. Brymer and Rapp fell 6-4, giving Oregon a 1-0 lead.
In singles play, UCLA took four of six first sets. From there, the Bruins ran away with it, rattling off four straight wins to clinch the match. Ninth-ranked McDonald put the first Bruin point on the board when he downed No. 94 Maasland in straights. Di Giulio followed suit at the bottom of the lineup to give UCLA a 2-1 lead. On court 2, No. 49 Martin Redlicki extended the lead to 3-1 when he defeated Thomas Laurent, 6-3, 6-4.

The final blow came on court 5. After edging Cormac Clissold 7-5 in the first set, Logan Staggs cruised past his Oregon foe 6-2 in the second to clinch for UCLA.

Next up, the Bruins head to Seattle to face No. 39 Washington. The match takes place at noon on Sunday.
