Senior Matt Farmer scored a game-high four goals for the Bruins.

Senior Matt Farmer led all scorers with a game-high four goals and senior Alex Roelse added a hat trick for the Bruins. Senior Aleksandarย Ruzicย got the starting nod in goal for the Bruins and made eight saves while allowing 11 goals (seven on power plays).
Andres Schmidt opened the scoring with a power play goal on a redirect at the 6:32 mark of the first period. Senior Matt Farmer answered on the Bruins' next possession when he took a pass from Austin Rone to score on a one-timer on a 6-on-5 opportunity (6:03) to tie it at 1-1. Then freshmen Chasenย Travisanoย caught the Pacific goalie out of the cage after an exclusion and scored a power play goal to put the Bruins up 2-1 (2:55). Senior Max Irving then scored on a counter to push the lead to 3-1 (1:28), ending the scoring in the first.
Freshman Quinten Osborne opened the scoring in the second period with a goal from two meters (7:11) to extend the lead to 4-1. Engin Ege Colak scored a power play goal to cut the lead to 4-2 (5:46). Farmer then scored his second on a power play off an assist from Travisano (5:08) to push the lead to 5-2. Kale Ai scored from the front court for Pacific (3:58) to cut the lead to 5-3. Butย Roelseย scored from the front court from seven meters out (3:36) to push the lead to 6-3. Then Roelse added his second from distance after an ordinary (1:09) to give the Bruins a 7-3 advantage. Ben Stevenson ended the scoring in the second quarter with a power play goal (0:43) to provide the 7-4 halftime score in favor of UCLA.
Farmer completed his hat trick with a beautiful off-speed lob shot over the goalie to open the scoring in the third (5:55) to extend the lead to 8-4. Then freshman Nicolas Saveljic scored a power play goal (4:53) to make it 9-4. Luke Pavillard cut it to 9-5 with a power play goal for the Tigers (3:38). But the Bruins answered with a goal at set from Farmer (3:19) his fourth of the game, and a goal from the front court by Irving (2:16) his second of the contest, to stretch the lead to 11-5, ending the scoring in the period.
Pacific opened the fourth with back-to-back power play goals by Pavillardย (7:23) and Colakย (6:17) to cut it to 11-7. Then Roelse scored on a counter (4:34) to complete a hat trick to push the lead to 12-7. Ai scored his second of the game on a power play for Pacific (4:21) to cut it to 12-8. Two more meaningless power play goals by Pacific (1:23, 0:55) followed to cut the lead to 12-10 as the Bruins were running out the clock in the final four minutes of the game. Luis Araya scored from distance (0:10) to trim the lead to 12-11 as the Bruins held the ball for the final seconds to secure the win.
The Bruins return to action on Saturday, Nov. 4 at No. 4 Stanford in an MPSFย game on the Pac-12 Networks at 12:30 p.m. PT.
