Bruins Place Fifth at Pac-12 Championships

BOULDER, Colo. - The Bruins completed the Pac-12 Championships with a 3-over round on Sunday at the Boulder Country Club, as UCLA finished in fifth place. Junior Tyler Collier and sophomore Cole Madey each finished in a tie for ninth.
The Bruins shot a 353 as a team in their final round, 19 shots better than their round two score and 10 better than round one to post an overall total of 1,088 (+38).
Collier and Madey each made four birdies in their even-par 70s on Sunday to finish at 5-over (215). Collier gained strokes on #6, #9, #13 and #15, while making four bogeys. Madey had birdies on #8, #10, #12 and #2, two bogeys and a double.
Junior Corey Shaun posted the best round of the day for UCLA with a 1-under 69 to jump 13 spots and tie for 17th (+7, 217). He birdied his first hole, the seventh, as well as #10, #16 and #17 to go with three bogeys. Sophomore Phil Delisi recorded a 2-over 72 to place in a tie for 37th (+12, 222). He birdied his first hole, the eighth, and #16 and #7, also making a bogey and two doubles. Sophomore Patrick Murphy tied for 40th (+13, 223) after a non-team scoring 74 (+4). He gained strokes on #12 and #17 to go with four bogeys and a double. Freshman Hidetoshi Yoshihara tied for 47th (+14, 224) following a 2-over 72. He made birdies on #12 and #8 and four bogeys.
The Bruins find out where they will be sent for NCAA Regionals on Thursday at 9 a.m. when Golf Channel airs the selection show. The six Regional sites are Auburn, Wash., Austin, Texas, Baton Rouge, La., Murfreesboro, Tenn., Stanford, Calif. and West Lafayette, Ind. Regionals will take place from May 15-17 at those half dozen sites.
