Adler Caps 2018 XC Season at NCAA Championships

MADISON, WIS. โ€“ Sophomore Erika Adler capped a stellar sophomore campaign on Saturday morning at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, finishing in 136th place at the Zimmer Championship Course.

She crossed the finish line at the 21:22.5 mark and was one of two individual qualifiers from the Pac-12 Conference.

Colorado came away with the NCAA title, scoring 65 points, as Dani Jones was the top finisher on the day with a time of 19:42.8.

Racing against over 250 competitors, Adler posted a 2K split time of 6:55.5 in the early going before clocking a time of 14:16.6 at the 4K mark. She was coming off a 14th place finish at the NCAA West Regional Championships, recording a time of 19:56.5 en route to earning All-Region honors.

A Second-Team All-Pac-12 honoree, Adler led the Bruins in every meet she participated in, including the Pre-Nationals, where she finished in 24th place with a time of 20:44.6.

The UCLA women, who finished in fifth place at the Pac-12 Championships, are set to return all but one of its runners next season.
