
Bruins Win Singles Against Stanford, Finish Third at Cypress Point Classic

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. - The Bruins won three of the six singles matches on Tuesday and tied two others, as they defeated Stanford, 4-2, in the third-place match at the Cypress Point Classic.
The three UCLA victories came from junior Devon Bling (6 and 5) over Ethan Ng, junior Eddy Lai (2 and 1) against Henry Shimp and sophomore Sean Maruyama (3 and 2) versus David Snyder. Senior Hidetoshi Yoshihara's match with Daulet Tuleubayev went all 18 holes, resulting in a tie and a half-point, as did freshman Chaz Aurilia against Barclay Brown. Sophomore Bryan Wiyang Teoh fell to Nate Menon, 3 and 2.
The Bruins close out the fall portion of their schedule this Friday through Sunday at the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational at the Royal Ka'anapali Golf Course in Ka'anapali, Hawaii.
