
Bruins T-4 After Day One of The Prestige

LA QUINTA, Calif. - The Bruins are tied for fourth following the first day of The Prestige presented by Charles Schwab. UCLA shot a 1-over 285 on Monday at the Greg Norman Course at PGA West and sits 10 shots back of leader Pepperdine (-9).
Junior Eddy Lai was the low Bruin of the day, shooting a 2-under 69, putting him in a tie for ninth. After making two bogeys in his first (back) nine, Lai recorded four birdies on No. 1, 4, 7 and 8.
Junior Devon Bling and sophomore Bryan Wiyang Teoh are both tied for 23rd after even-par 71s. Bling made a birdie on his first hole, the 10th, as well as the eighth, to go with two bogeys, while Teoh posted birdies on No. 11 and 18 with two bogeys. Senior Hidetoshi Yoshihara is tied for 44th (+3, 74), making a pair of birdies on No. 12 and 14 and five bogeys. Freshman Tony Hendricks shot a 7-over 78 (T-70), notching four bogeys and a triple.
UCLA starts its second round on Tuesday at 8:40 a.m. off the first tee in the order of Hendricks, Yoshihara, Teoh, Bling and Lai. Wednesday's final round will be broadcast live here.
In The Prestige individual tournament at the Coral Mountain Golf Club, freshman Mason Greene is tied for 13th after an even-par 72. Starting on the 10th, he made a pair of birdies on No. 16 and 6 and two bogeys. Sophomores Ahmed Ali and Rory Feng are both tied for 16th following 1-over 73s. Ali made three birdies on No. 16, 18 and 3 to go with two bogeys and a double, while Feng had three birdies on No. 16, 5 and 9 and four bogeys.
The trio of individuals tee off at 9 a.m. in round two (Greene on No. 6, Feng on No. 7 and Ali on No. 8).
