SUNLAND, Calif. - Sophomore Ahmed Ali fired a career-best, 8-under 64 on Tuesday at the Angeles National Golf Club, as he finished second at the Providence Seabegger Invitational.

Ali, who opened the tournament with rounds of 83 and 77 in blustery conditions on Monday, rebounded in a big way in his final round, making 10 birdies. He had a pair of stretches of back-to-back birdies on No. 1-2 and No. 5-6, with a bogey on the third, before posting five birdies in a row on holes No. 8 through 12. Another birdie on No. 16 got Ali to 9-under for the round before he closed with a bogey and a par to complete his 8-under 64.

Ali was one of four Bruins playing as individuals in the tournament. Freshman Tony Hendricks placed solo third (+9, 225). After shooting 78-77 on Monday, he shot a 2-under 70 on Tuesday. Hendricks made an eagle on the par-5 13th, four birdies on No. 3, 4, 12 and 14 and four bogeys. Freshman Mason Greene (+23, 239) was sixth, posting rounds of 75, 85 and 79. Sophomore Rory Feng (+35, 251) was 19th, recording rounds of 81, 86 and 84.

The Bruins' next event will be a team event at the PGA West Greg Norman Golf Course in La Quinta, Calif., as UCLA takes part in The Prestige presented by Charles Schwab (Feb. 17-19).
