No. 19 UCLA Rowing to Face No. 18 USC on Saturday

March 25, 2021 | Women's Rowing

LOS ANGELES – The No. 19-ranked UCLA women's rowing team will compete against No. 18-ranked USC on Saturday morning in Marina del Rey, Calif.

The Bruins will race three boats against the Women of Troy, with the racing expected to begin at 9 a.m. (PT).

UCLA and USC will open the morning with the varsity four race at 9 a.m., followed by the second varsity eight race at 9:15 a.m. The crosstown rivals will conclude Saturday's racing with the varsity eight crews at 9:30 a.m.

The Bruins' program will honor its 13 senior student-athletes at the conclusion of Saturday's races as part of a "Senior Day" ceremony.

The upcoming races against USC marks UCLA's second spring competition. The Bruins secured a dual-meet victory over Loyola Marymount on March 13 and looks to keep its momentum going when they face the Women of Troy on Saturday.

This will mark UCLA's first races against USC since the 2019 spring season.

UCLA and USC are two of five Pac-12 rowing programs currently ranked among the CRCA's top-20 poll, as released each Wednesday. In total, all seven Pac-12 women's rowing teams have received votes in the most recent CRCA poll.

Due to ongoing physical distancing measures and Los Angeles County limitations, fans will not be permitted at UCLA's races on Saturday morning in Marina del Rey.
