Women’s Golf Wins Consolation Match at East Lake Cup

ATLANTA – The UCLA women's golf team defeated No. 7-ranked Oregon, 4-1, in the consolation match of the East Lake Cup on Wednesday at historic East Lake Club in Atlanta, Ga.
Zoe Antoinette Campos, Natalie Vo, Francesca Fiorellini and Tiffany Le each tallied points for the Bruins.
No. 5 USC defeated No. 15 LSU in the championship match, 3.5-1.5.
Campos ousted the Ducks' Kiara Romero, 2 UP, in her final appearance as a Bruin. The two-time WGCA All-American is departing UCLA after the Fall 2024 season to pursue a career at the professional level. Campos finishes her storied UCLA career ranked fourth in program history in wins (6), fifth in rounds under par (43) and rounds in the 60s (19) and ninth in top-10 finishes (19).
Le dominated her singles match versus Ting-Hsuan Huang with a 3&2 victory and clinched the match-winning point for the Bruins. She led by at least one hole for the entirety of her round and by as much as three through the first six holes.
Vo won a series of three straight holes from 8-10 to give her a comfortable four-point lead over Tong An, which she rode to a 4&2 victory.
Fiorellini and Karen Tsuru's match went down to the last few holes. Fiorellini, after trailing through the first six holes of the day, took the lead for good in her match on the 17th.
UCLA resumes the 2024-25 season in approximately three months at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge at Palos Verdes Golf Club (Feb. 2-4).

The UCLA women's golf team fell to USC in Tuesday's East Lake Cup semifinals, 3-2, at historic East Lake Club. The Bruins will face Oregon in Wednesday's consolation round after the Ducks fell to LSU, 3-2.
Coverage from the East Lake Cup on Wednesday will be televised on Golf Channel between 12-3 p.m. PT. The tournament marks UCLA's final event of the Fall 2024 season.
Caroline Canales (1 UP) and Francesca Fiorellini (2&1) both won their singles matches Tuesday. Canales defeated Trojans' star freshman Jasmine Koo in her match thanks to a hot start, winning three of her first four holes. Fiorellini ousted Bailey Shoemaker in her round.

The UCLA women's golf team shot +9, 297 to finish fourth out of four teams in the stroke play portion of the East Lake Cup at East Lake Golf Club on Monday. The Bruins will meet crosstown rival USC in Tuesday's match play semifinals, which will be aired on Golf Channel between 12-3 p.m. (PT).
Trojans' freshman Jasmine Koo won her third straight individual title, shooting a -7, 65 to finish three strokes ahead of her runner-up teammate Catherine Park. USC (-6, 282) finished first in the stroke play round.
UCLA will face the winner or loser between LSU and Oregon in Wednesday's championship or consolation match. The East Lake Cup invites the top four teams from the previous season's NCAA Championships.
Senior Natalie Vo was UCLA's top golfer with four birdies to help her card a -1, 71 which was good for T-5th in the field of 20.
Zoe Antoinette Campos and Francesca Fiorellini both tied for 11th (+3, 75). Caroline Canales was the Bruins' final counting score at +4, 76 in 15th place. Tiffany le tied for 18th at +6, 78.
