  • The Bruins went 2-3 in true road contests, but were 4-0 in matches played on a neutral court.
  • The last time UCLA played against a team ranked as high as No. 2 wasย last season (Nov. 17)ย when it took on Stanford. The Bruins fell to the Cardinal in a five-set thriller.
  • UCLA defeated No. 14 Georgia Tech in the season opener and dropped its other two matches against ranked opponents (No. 17 Tennessee, No. 25 TCU).
  • Junior outside hitter Cheridyn Leverette leads the Bruins in points (121.5), kills (110), points-per-set (4.50), and kills-per-set (4.07).

SERIES HISTORY
UCLA will faceoff against No. 2 Nebraska in its first match as a member of the Big Ten Conference. The Cornhuskers lead the all-time series 13-4 and carry a four-match win streak into Friday's contest. The Bruins are just 3-7 in Lincoln and look for its first win in the Devaney Center since 2003. UCLA has won nine of its 10 meetings against Ohio State, but have not faced the Buckeyes since 2011. The Bruins have won each of the two matches inside Pauley Pavilion and look to extend the win streak to four games in the all-time series on Sunday afternoon.

NORCAL RECAP
UCLA concluded its final week of nonconference play with a pair of matches in Northern California. The Bruins experienced their first-ever defeat to UC Davis, marred by a program-record 21 service errors. However, they rebounded with a straight-set victory over California, led by Cheryidn Leverette's impressive performance. Leverette achieved a season-high 18 kills and recorded a double-double with 11 digs in Saturday's match. This was her second double-double of the season and the third of her career.

UCLA'S HOME ARENA FOR OVER HALF A CENTURY
UCLA will play its 54th season in Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom in 2024. This will mark the 13th women's volleyball season since the arena opened after undergoing a 33-month, $136-million renovation prior to the 2012-13 school year. The Bruins have gone 35-25 in Pauley Pavilion the last six seasons. During the Fall 2021 season, UCLA went a perfect 12-0 at home, including an 11-0 mark inside Pauley. It was the Bruins' first perfect home record since 1999.

Sunday's match will air on B1G+, the Big Ten Network's subscription streaming platform, which offers access to nearly 2,500 events annually. The Bruins will be streamed on B1G+ at least 11 times this season, with six games scheduled to be televised on Big Ten Network, and one match on Peacock. FIRST SET IS KEY

Of these six victories, five were achieved in straight sets, while one extended to a five-set contest against then No. 14 Georgia Tech. Additionally, the Bruins hold a 5-1 record when winning the third set and remain undefeated (5-0) when achieving a hitting percentage above .300.

FANTASTIC FRESHMEN
Freshman outside hitter Kiki Horne went for double-digit kills in two of the three matches in Texas and continued to improve her efficiency, posting a hitting percentage of .282. The marquee matchup against No. 25 TCU was highlighted by freshman setter Kate Duffey's involvement. The Ventura, Calif. native subbed into the match and facilitated a UCLA attack that hit .265 in the second set, improving from the .143 mark in the first. Duffey registered 27 assists despite only featuring in two of the four sets.

UCLA OFFICIALLY JOINS THE BIG TEN CONFERENCE
UCLA officially joined the Big Ten Conference Aug. 2, ushering in a new era in the Bruins' storied and illustrious athletic tradition. UCLA, along with previous conference foes Oregon, USC and Washington, have moved to an 18-team Big Ten Conference with a footprint spanning from the Pacific to the Atlantic.
UCLA's approaching membership in the Big Ten Conference was initially announced more than two years ago, on June 30, 2022.

"The day has finally come," said Martin Jarmond, The Alice and Nahum Lainer Family Director of Athletics. "After two years of planning and preparation, UCLA is proud and excited to join the Big Ten Conference. I am grateful for the energy and effort that has been put into shaping this pivotal move by our hard-working staff members, as well as our coaches and student-athletes. The investments we have made into our programs and student-athletes over the past 24 months have set us up to continue to compete at the elite level that defines UCLA Athletics."

The Bruins' first home Big Ten Conference match will take place Sunday, Sept. 29 versus Ohio State in legendary Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom at 3 p.m. (PT). The contest will be available for viewing on B1G+.
