Women’s Basketball Hosts No. 14-Ranked Lady Volunteers Sunday

LOS ANGELES – No. 3-ranked UCLA returns to Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom Financial on Sunday, Nov. 30, to host the No. 14-ranked Tennessee Lady Volunteers.
The Bruins (7-1, 0-0 B1G) and Lady Vols (5-1, 0-0 SEC) are set to tip off at 1:30 p.m. PT on FS1 this Sunday.

MATCHUP HISTORY: vs. No. 14/11 Tennessee Lady Volunteers
• Tennessee leads the all-time series 18-3, but UCLA has had success against the Lady Vols in recent years.
• The Bruins have won two-straight against Tennessee, with the most recent meeting coming in the 2022 Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in The Bahamas. The Bruins shot a scorching 16-for-30 from the three-point line, tying a single-game record in makes (16 3PM – Feb. 26, 2021 vs. USC) for the program. Charisma Osborne (23 PTS, 5-11 3FG) led all scorers and a freshman Kiki Rice had 15 points in the win.
• UCLA hosts Tennessee in Pauley Pavilion for the first time since December 2007 (L, 61-47).
• In a historical connection between the programs, Bruin head coach Billie Moore coached legendary Tennessee alumna Pat Head (Summitt) on Team USA's inaugural women's basketball Olympic team in 1976 and was considered a mentor to Summitt throughout her coaching career. The senior national team, which also included Ann Meyers, earned silver and was enshrined in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2023. Meyers-Drysdale, the first woman to receive a full athletic scholarship to UCLA, was inducted to the Hall of Fame in 1993 for her individual contributions to the game of basketball.

• The Bruins dropped their first contest of the season against a formidable foe in the No. 4-ranked Texas Longhorns in the opening round of the 2025 Players Era Women's Championship on Nov. 26.
• Graduate guard Gianna Kneepkens (7-11 FG, 3-6 3FG) and Kiki Rice (9-10 FT) finished with a team-high 17 points.
• UCLA was unable to overcome a 20-point halftime deficit despite a strong second-half comeback effort; the Bruins got within four points in the fourth quarter but shot 0-for-5 on their last five attempts in the game.

• All five starters got into double figures for the second time this season; senior Gabriela Jaquez led all scorers with 23 points.
