Women’s Golf to Battle for the Bell Tomorrow
March 16, 2025 | Women's Golf
LOS ANGELES – The UCLA women's golf team looks to defend its title at the third annual Battle for the Bell in a single-round match play event versus crosstown rival USC at Palos Verdes Golf Club tomorrow on Monday, March 17.
The Bruins won the inaugural matchup in 2022-23, 8.5-3.5, and last season's contest, 4.0-1.0.
There will be no live scoring provided for the event. Check @UCLAWomensGolf on X for updates throughout the day. The two rival squads tee off at 10:15 a.m. (PT).
The Battle for the Bell at Palos Verdes Golf Club is not open to the public.
The winner of the tournament is presented with a cast iron bell trophy that is of significantly smaller stature than the Victory Bell trophy fought between the two schools' football programs.
UCLA and USC, two of the top women's golf programs in the country, have won three NCAA Championships apiece.
Scoring System
Each match victory is worth one point. If the match is tied after 18 holes of play, the point will be halved. The team with the most points after the one round of play will be the winner. If there is a tie in points, the winner will be determined by the total number of holes won on the day.
