March 25, 2025 | Men's Golf
STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 15-ranked UCLA men's golf team will compete this week at The Goodwin, hosted by Stanford University at Stanford Golf Course from Thursday, March 27 through Saturday, March 29.
UCLA is among 30 collegiate programs that will compete at the three-day tournament at Stanford, a 54-hole stroke play invitational that will feature one 18-hole round per day (par 70).
Six of the tournament's competitors are currently ranked among the top 30 in the men's golf "Scoreboard" rankings. In addition to No. 15-ranked UCLA, those other five ranked opponents include (12) Utah, (24) Pepperdine, (27) BYU, (28) Long Beach State and (30) Georgia.
This week's tournament, starting on Thursday, will mark the Bruins' fourth competition in the spring season and UCLA's first tournament since the Watersound Invitational in Florida, which took place on Feb. 17-18. UCLA finished in third place, out of 12 teams, at last month's Watersound Invitational, hosted in Pana City Beach, Fla. Senior Pablo Ereño finished in a tie for sixth place, shooting 5-under 211 at the 54-hole tournament.
Ereño, along with senior Omar Morales and junior Kyle An, all had top 20 finishes at the Watersound Invitational. Morales and An finished in a tie for 14th place, recording a total score of 3-under 213.
UCLA's lineup this week will include two seniors, in Ereño and Morales, along with An, sophomore Luke Powell and freshman Baylor Larrabee. Freshman Trevor Garus will be competing at Stanford as an individual.

The Bruins last secured The Goodwin title in 2006, having won the tournament three times in a four-year span (2003, 2004 and 2006). Ranked No. 5 in 2006, the Bruins won the tournament that year after inclement weather forced the cancellation of the final round (then known as the U.S. Intercollegiate, hosted at the Stanford Golf Course). UCLA led USC by one stroke after Saturday's double rounds with a score of 578 (+18), just ahead of the Trojans' final score of 579 (-19).
