Robinson Named MPSF Offensive Player of the Week

LOS ANGELES – UCLA's Cooper Robinson was named on Monday as the MPSF Offensive Player of the Week. The redshirt junior tallied 33 total kills over two wins over Pepperdine last week for the No. 2 UCLA Bruins.
Robinson recorded 16 kills on 33 swings on Thursday in a 3-0 win in Pauley Pavilion, and then added 17 kills on 28 swings to hit .536 on Saturday in a 3-1 win in Malibu. The redshirt junior also added three service aces during the week.
This is the second time that Robinson has earned MPSF Offensive Player of the Week honors in 2025. Robinson also won MPSF/Molton Offensive Player of the Week honors on Monday, March 10.
Robinson also earned AVCA National Player of the Week on March 11, 2025. The honor marks the 28th time overall that a Bruin has earned the honor, and the second time in 2025. Prior to Robinson, the most recent AVCA National Player of the Week honoree was Cameron Thorne for his play during the week of February 24, 2024.
On Thursday, inside Pauley Pavilion, Robinson tallied 16 kills and hit .364 for the day as the Bruins swept No. 9 Pepperdine. He also added a trio of aces and totaled 19 points on the day.
As for Saturday, Robinson continued his success at the net and produced 17 kills on 28 swings to hit .536 on the day. A Pacific Palisades, California native, Robinson also added five digs and two block assists and totaled 18.0 points to his tally.
Robinson finished the week averaging 4.71 kills per set across the two matches and 5.29 points per set.
On the year, Robinson is hitting .411, and leads the team with 226 kills. He is averaging 3.53 kills per set, 4.16 points per set, and has 25 aces. Robinson is currently eighth nationally in hitting percentage.
The Bruins continue conference play this week at Grand Canyon University on Friday and Saturday. The Bruins will play at 6 pm PT in Phoenix, Arizona, on Friday, and 5 pm PT on Saturday. Both matches will be streamed live on B1G+.
