LOS ANGELES โ The No. 9-ranked UCLA softball team defeated CSUN, 10-2, and UC San Diego, 9-0, both in five innings in a pair of non-conference contests at Easton Stadium Tuesday night.

The Bruins (34-5, 7-1 Big Ten) now have 21 wins in mercy rule fashion through 39 games this season, tying a program single-season record set in 2010 and 2015. UCLA totaled 20 hits, including seven doubles, across the two games.

Game Two โ UCLA 9, UC San Diego (5 inn.)ย โ Highlights
Senior right-handed pitcher Jada Cecil turned in the best performance of her UCLA career thus far in the Bruins' 9-0 victory over the Tritons (7-22) in game two. Cecil was one strike away from the first no-hitter of her career before the bid was put to rest on a single to left field by Haley Garcia in the fifth inning.

Cecil finished her dominant outing with nine strikeouts โ her most in a Bruins uniform โ and recorded her second win of the season. She threw 62 of her 94 pitches for strikes and allowed just three other baserunners (two hit-by-pitches and one walk).

Junior third baseman Jordan Woolery notched her fourth three-hit game of the season, going 3-for-3 with two runs batted in and a double to lead UCLA's lineup. She paces the team with a .447 batting average and 57 RBI on the season.

Junior first baseman Megan Grant and senior second baseman Savannah Pola joined Woolery with multiple hits, recording two apiece. Both of Grant's hits went for doubles.

Game One โ UCLA 10, CSUN 2 (5 inn.)ย โ Highlights
UCLA rallied for seven runs in the bottom of the fifth to surge to a walk-off in UCLA's 10-2 win over the Matadors (15-17) earlier on Tuesday. Pola led the Bruins' offense with three RBI and a pair of doubles in her first two-hit performance of the day. Pola's second double in the fifth delivered the finishing blow, driving in the game's final two runs.

Graduate center fielder Jessica Clements also notched a pair of base hits in game one, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double. Grant went 2-for-2 in game one with a walk as well.

Senior catcher Jayla Castro came off the bench in the midst of UCLA's fifth inning rally, and on a 0-2 count, knocked in two runs on a single up the middle to extend the lead to 7-2.

Junior right-handed pitcher Taylor Tinsley earned her eighth win of the season in a complete-game effort against CSUN. She concluded her outing with six strikeouts and allowed two earned runs on a home run by the Matadors' Tiara Westbrook.
