June 09, 2025 | Men's Golf
UCLA senior men's golfer Pablo Ereño has been named a third-team Division I PING All-America selection as announced on Monday by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Classmate Omar Morales was selected as an honorable mention All-America pick.
For the second time in the last week, Ereño secured third-team All-America honors. Previously, he had been honored as an All-America pick by Golfweek. He concluded the 2024-25 season with a sixth-place finish through stroke play at the NCAA Championships at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif. Ereño shot 5-under 283 through four rounds, becoming UCLA's first top-10 individual finisher since Lorens Chan in 2014. In addition, he had been named the Big Ten Men's Golfer of the Year after the Bruins won the team title at the 2025 Big Ten Championships. He closed his senior season with a team-leading 70.23 scoring average, the second-best season mark in program history.
Ereño won the individual medal (his first career medal) at The Tindall in Sept. 2024, opening the season with a score of 11-under 202 (66-70-66) at the two-day event in Sammamish, Wash.
Morales has captured honorable mention PING All-America honors after having been a third-team selection in 2024. He won the individual medal at the Big Ten Championships in Baltimore in late April and closed his senior season with a 70.76 scoring average (the sixth-highest mark in program history). Morales won the Big Ten Championships by one stroke, carding even par (70) on the final day of the three-day event to win the league's individual crown.
Both Ereño and Morales were named unanimous choices on the 10-man list of first-team All-Big Ten selections. In addition, the two UCLA seniors were honored as NCAA Division I PING All-West Region honorees by the GCAA for the second straight year.
