Bruins Draw at No. 18 Kentucky, 0-0

September 01, 2025 | Men's Soccer

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The UCLA men's soccer team earned a 0-0 draw with No. 18 Kentucky on Monday afternoon at the Bell Soccer Complex on the campus of the University of Kentucky. Monday's game was the first ever between the two programs.

The Bruins (0-2-2, 0-0-0 Big Ten) created 10 shots, with four coming on target throughout the game. UCLA also limited No. 18 Kentucky (2-0-1, 0-0-0 Sun Belt) to three shots on frame, which were all saved by Ryan Tiltack in goal for the Bruins.

Oliver Roche and Tamir Ratoviz led the way for the Bruins with two shots each, and Tiltack finished with three saves in goal for UCLA.

In the opening 45 minutes, both teams had great chances to open the scoring. Kentucky almost opened the scoring four minutes in, but Tiltack came up big for the Bruins, parrying the shot away.

A minute later, after the Bruins were awarded a free kick from just outside the box, Shakir Nixon stepped up and fired a shot up and over the wall, but the Kentucky keeper blocked it before the ball found the back of the net.

At the 32nd minute, Solans Ormo forced another save from Sebastian Conlon in goal for Kentucky. Solans Ormo was played through on goal, but Conlon came up big again for Kentucky, blocking the shot and keeping the game scoreless heading into the halftime break.

In the second half, Sean Sent had a great look for the Bruins in the 54th minute, but his shot from outside the box hit off the crossbar, and the game remained 0-0.

A minute and a half later, Philip Naef had arguably the best chance of the game. After a turnover by the Wildcats, Naef dribbled past a defender and took a shot from just outside the box that Conlon got a toe to, pushing the ball past his post and out for a corner.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net, and the Bruins and Wildcats played to a scoreless draw, 0-0, on Monday afternoon.

Up Next: The Bruins return to Los Angeles to play LMU on September 7. Kickoff is set for 4 pm PT from Sullivan Field on the campus of LMU. The match will be broadcast on ESPN+.
