Bruins Fall at LMU, 2-1

LOS ANGELES – The UCLA men's soccer program fell 2-1 to Loyola Marymount University on Sunday afternoon. The Bruins were tied with the Lions until the 89th minute when LMU found the game-winning goal.
Sergi Solans Ormo led the Bruins (0-3-2, 0-0-0 Big Ten) offense with a goal off of five shots on goal, while Ryan Tiltack provided one save in goal. Anthony Bodyjain led LMU (2-2-1, 0-0-0 WCC) with four shots and one goal.
The Bruins opened the game on the front foot, and had a flurry of chances in the opening 20 minutes. Solans Ormo then opened his account as a Bruin in the 36th minute to put the Bruins up 1-0. Tre Wright played Solans Ormo through on goal from the left wing, and then Solans Ormo took a couple of touches, rounded the keeper, and put the ball in the back of the net.
As for the second half, LMU clawed its way back in to the game. Ismail Nieves got the equalizer for the Lions in the 62nd minute of play. After the ball bounced around in the box before falling kindly to Nieves, he then slotted a shot past the on-rushing Tiltack to tie the score at 1-1 with 28 minutes to go.
Unfortunately for the Bruins, LMU would add a second goal in the final minutes of the match. LMU's Anthony Boyadjian picked up the ball just outside the 18-yard box, took a few touches, and then curled a shot past Tiltack and into the right-bottom corner of the net to earn the 2-1 win for the Lions.
