Lutkemeyer Clinches 4-0 Win on Senior Day
April 18, 2026 | Women's Tennis
LOS ANGELES โ The 19th-ranked UCLA women's tennis team finished out its regular season with a 4-0 win against Purdue in Big Ten Conference action Saturday at Los Angeles Tennis Center. Anne-Christine Lutkemeyer clinched the victory, providing an exclamation point to her Senior Day.
Also triumphant for the Bruins (15-6, 9-4 Big Ten) in singles competition were Olivia Center and Mayu Crossley. All three players also logged doubles wins. The Boilermakers dropped to 7-14 (3-10).
In a ranked matchup on the top doubles court, No. 36 Center/Kate Fakih blanked No. 61 Ida Clement/Ece Gencer, improving to 10-5 on the year. Center/Fakih has four ranked victories in 2026. The Bruins on Courts 2 and 3 held simultaneous match points, but it was fittingly Lutkemeyer/Crossley delivering the clinching point. The senior-freshman combination beat Kayal Gownder/Fatima Gutierrez 6-3 for its third deciding win.
UCLA swept the singles first sets, with Rona Rugara posting the final one in a Court 6 tiebreaker. Her classmate, No. 49 Crossley, soon completed a 6-3, 6-1 display opposite Clement on Court 2. Crossley ends the regular season with 10 consecutive straight-set victories. She holds 17-3 dual singles record and is 20-8 going back to tournament play.
Center was next off, beating Emmi Kolyszko 6-2, 6-3 on Court 5. Center has prevailed in each of her past three decisions.
No. 13 Lutkemeyer then ended her final regular-season match at LATC. The Irvine, Calif. native dealt Gencer a 6-3, 6-2 defeat for her 11th career clinching victory and team-high-tying fifth of the year. Lutkemeyer has 160 career wins, with 80 coming in singles play (80-35) and the other 80 in doubles (80-26).
The Bruins now await their seeding for next week's 2026 Big Ten Women's Tennis Tournament presented by Allstate in Columbus, Ohio. Matches will be played at Ohio State's Ty Tucker Tennis Center from Thursday, April 23-Sunday, April 26.
