2015
Inouye partnered with Karly Drolson the entire season, going 17-6 overall ... went 0-2 at #3 doubles ... went 17-4 at #4 doubles, posting wins over Saint Mary's (March 28 and April 11), California (April 10), Stanford (April 11), Long Beach State (April 15), Arizona (April 18), California (April 18), Arizona State (April 18).
2014
Inouye partnered with Karly Drolson the entire season, going 14-7 overall, 10-5 in duals and 4-2 in pairs tournaments ... went 3-1 at #3 doubles, posting wins over CSUN (March 6) and CSU Bakersfield (March 8) ... went 2-1 at #4 doubles, posting wins over Loyola Marymount (April 12) and Santa Clara (April 12) ... went 5-3 at #5 doubles, posting wins over San Francisco (March 27), Santa Clara (March 29), Stanford (March 29), Loyola Marymount (April 3) and Long Beach State (April 8).
2013
Inouye partnered with Maddy Klineman (2-3) and Karly Drolson (3-5) during the inaugural UCLA sand volleyball season ... recorded the first-ever doubles victory for UCLA sand volleyball with Klineman on March 16 against Loyola Marymount ... also had a win with Klineman on March 21 versus Nebraska #5 and with Drolson versus LMU #4 (April 3), Santa Clara #3 (April 20) and LMU (April 21).
PUNAHOU SCHOOL
Inouye was a three-year letterwinner at libero and defensive specialist at Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawai’i ... helped the Buff n’ Blu to Interscholastic League Championships in each of her last three seasons ... Punahou were State champs in 2011 and State runner-up in ‘09 and ‘10 ... coached by Peter Balding ... played club with ‘Imi ‘Ike Volleyball ... made the All-Tournament Team at Junior Nationals in Columbus, Ohio in 2012.
PERSONAL
Born Rachel Kame Inouye on June 11, 1994 in Honolulu, Hawai’i ... parents are Susan and Cid Inouye ... has one older brother, Jake ... chose to attend UCLA because of the great athletic and academic opportunities, and because she really likes the coaches and the all-around atmosphere ... hobbies include trying new kinds of food, going to the beach and playing beach volleyball ... things she likes the most about volleyball are that it gives her a chance to get away from the craziness of life and to just play, and it’s also a great way for her to satisfy her need for competition in life ... favorite academic classes are math and science ... biggest athletic thrill of her career was winning a State Championship her senior season ... favorites include singer Keali’i Reichel, actress Keira Knightley, the movie “Pride and Prejudice” and any kind of dessert ... majoring in financial actuarial mathematics.
