Rowed in the Bruinsโ novice eight crew (N8+) during her freshman season โฆ rowed seven seat in the N8+ crew at the two-day San Diego Crew Classic on Mission Bay (April 1-2), helping the Bruinsโ novice crew to third-place finishes out of five boats on back-to-back days โฆ stroked the Bruinsโ N8+ crew in a dual-meet regatta against Loyola Marymount in Marina del Rey (April 22) โฆ also stroked the N8+ boat at the season-culminating Pac-12 Championships on Dexter Lake in Lowell, Ore. (May 14).
High School
Was a four-year varsity letterwinner on the kayaking and outrigger paddling teams at Punahou School in Hawaiโi โฆ also was a two-year varsity water polo letterwinner, competing at the center and defender positions โฆ as an outrigger paddler, led her high school program to the girlsโ state championship (HHSAA) in 2019 and 2022 and to a runner-up finish in 2020 โฆ was a part of the teamโs outrigger paddling mixed State Championship (HHSAA) in 2019 and 2022 and a runner-up finish in 2020 โฆ was named as a kayaking league all-star in 2021 โฆ earned the gold medal at the Sprint Kayaking Nationals in 2021 (gold in the K2 500m and K2 5000m) โฆ won the silver medal in the K4 500m and the bronze medal in the K2 200m โฆ participated in multiple U.S. National Team training camps (kayak) and was an athlete on the Junior/U-23 Team USA Spring Kayak team since 2021 (and Senior National Team since 2022) โฆ helped Team USA qualify to compete at the 2023 Pan American Games.

Full name: Emma Scott McDonald โฆ born in Taipei, Taiwan โฆ is the older of Tom and Nara McDonaldโs two children โฆ has one younger brother, Calum โฆ lists her greatest athletic thrill, to date, as competing in her first international kayak competition (for Sprint Kayaking) at the Junior Worlds in 2021 and setting a personal record in the final โฆ can speak Mandarin and is a dual citizen between the United States and Canada โฆ interested in a career in medicine (with athletes) โฆ undeclared major.
