Rowed primarily in the Bruinsโ novice eight crew (N8+) during her freshman year โฆ rowed three seat in the second varsity four crew (2V4+) in a dual-meet competition against Loyola Marymount (March 16) โฆ rowed three seat in the N8+ at the two-day San Diego Crew Classic (April 6-7), helping the Bruinsโ boat to a third-place finish on day one and a third-place finish in the Grand Final race on day two โฆ rowed five seat in the N8+ in the annual crosstown competition against USC (May 11) โฆ also rowed five seat in the N8+ at Pac-12 Championships at Lake Natoma (May 19).
High School
Attended La Jolla High School for four years โฆ was a three-year varsity field hockey letterwinner, competing at the center position โฆ also was a two-year varsity lacrosse letterwinner, competing as a defender โฆ rowed for the San Diego Rowing Club โฆ secured novice team MVP acclaim and served as the novice team captain โฆ stroked the 4+ and 8+ crews.

Full name: Shelby Nicole Gayner โฆ born in Newport Beach, Calif. โฆ is the oldest of four children โฆ has two younger sisters, Charlotte and Grace, and one younger brother, George โฆ enrolled at UCLA as a fourth-generation Bruin โฆ her parents, Beau and Kathryn, along with one uncle and one aunt, her grandfather and her great-grandmother all attended UCLA โฆ is interested in joining the Peace Corps and attending law school after graduation โฆ intends to major in political science.
