Bert LaBrucherie

Former letterman Bert LaBrucherie was UCLA's head football coach from 1945-48. He guided the Bruins to an unbeaten regular season in 1946 and a Rose Bowl berth. After graduating from UCLA, LaBrucherie began a 16-year stint at Los Angeles High School in 1929. He coached the varsity football team to seven city titles in 10 years, then took over as the Bruins' head coach in 1945. After he left UCLA, he coached football, track and cross-country at CalTech until his retirement in 1963.
LaBrucherie, who died at 81 in 1986, was inducted into the UCLA Athletic Hall of Fame in 1987.
