LOS ANGELES - USC's No. 1 doubles team of senior Ditta Huber and junior Kara Warkentin, ranked No. 30 in the nation, upset the No.12 doubles team in the country, UCLA's duo of juniors Amanda Basica and Annica Cooper, to clinch the No. 13 Women of Troy's 6-3 victory over the No. 8 Bruins on Saturday afternoon at Marks Tennis Stadium.
"UCLA has a very good team," USC Coach Richard Gallien said. "This win speaks well for our girls. We put up a stiff wall and out-fought them. In the end we had just a little more left then they did."
USC improved to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in the Pacific-10 Conference, while handing UCLA its first loss of the season. The Bruins fell to 5-1, 2-1.
