MALIBU, Calif. -- The No. 29th-ranked Pepperdine Waves women's tennis team fell short to No. 8 UCLA, 5-2, Tuesday afternoon at Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center in Malibu. However, the Waves staged huge upsets in singles play at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions when unranked Natalie Braverman and Charlotte Vernaz knocked-off No. 13 Jackie Carleton and No. 44 Daniel Bercek, respectively.

With the loss, the Waves drop to 5-2 on the season while the Bruins improve to 6-3.

In doubles play, the Bruins swept the point with three straight wins. At the No. 1 court, Lauren Fisher and Bercek defeated Braverman and Merve Asimgil, 9-7.
