
Bruins Sweep Stanford for Fifth Straight Victory

The sixth-ranked UCLA men's volleyball team defeated Stanford Friday night for its fifth consecutive victory.
The Bruins won 30-25, 30-20, 30-20 in 80 minutes before 727 at Stanford's Burnham Pavilion. The victory raised the Bruins' record to 17-12 overall and 9-10 in league play. Stanford fell to 4-21, 2-17.
Junior Steve Klosterman led the Bruins with 11 kills (.421) and senior Nick Scheftic added 10 kills (.600), four total blocks and three aces. Senior Damien Scott recorded nine kills and three total blocks. Defensively, freshman setter Matt Wade led the team with 11 digs and sophomore libero Tony Ker added 10 digs.
The Bruins hit .385 for the match and limited the Cardinal to a percentage of .038. UCLA out-blocked Stanford, 10.5-4.0.
Ben Reddy led the Cardinal with 12 kills, but was limited to an attack percentage of .048.
The Bruins conclude their Bay area road trip Saturday night with a league match at Pacific, beginning at 7 p.m.
