The eighth-ranked UCLA Gymnastics team will travel cross-country to Morgantown, WV for the NCAA Southeast Regional Gymnastics Championships on Saturday, Apr. 14 at 6 pm ET. Joining the Bruins in the Regional will be fifth-ranked LSU, 17th-ranked Auburn, North Carolina State, host West Virginia and North Carolina. The meet will take place at WVU Coliseum at 6:00 pm Eastern Time.
The top two teams, as well as the top two all-around competitors not from an advancing team, at each regional will receive a berth in the NCAA Championships, which will be at Salt Lake City, UT on Apr. 26-28. In addition, individual event winners who did not already qualify with their team or as an all-arounder will advance.
Also competing at the meet will be five at-large individual all-around competitors and four at-large individual event specialists.
UCLA has the favored Olympic rotation and will begin the regional meet on vault and then will have a bye, followed by bars, beam, a bye, and floor. North Carolina begins on a bye before bars, LSU begins on bars, North Carolina State starts on beam, Auburn starts on a bye before floor, and West Virginia begins on floor.
The six regional fields and sites are as follows:
West Region (Berkeley, CA, host California) - No. 6 Nebraska, No. 7 Utah, No. 18 Missouri, Washington, Sacramento State, California
North Central Region (Denver, CO, host Denver) - No. 2 Georgia, No. 11 Penn State, No. 14 Denver, BYU, Minnesota, Utah State
South Central Region (Tucson, AZ, host Arizona) - No. 4 Stanford, No. 8T Oregon State, No. 15 Arizona, Illinois, Arizona State, Illinois-Chicago
Central Region (Tuscaloosa, AL, host Alabama) - No. 3 Alabama, No. 10 Oklahoma, No. 16 Iowa State, Michigan State, Ohio State, Kentucky
Northeast Region (Ann Arbor, MI, host Michigan) - No. 1 Florida, No. 12 Michigan, No. 13 Arkansas, Pittsburgh, New Hampshire, Rutgers
Southeast Region (Morgantown, WV, host West Virginia) - No. 5 LSU, No. 8T UCLA, No. 17 Auburn, North Carolina State, West Virginia, North Carolina
