Bruins Down Wildcats, 6-1 in Tucson

Tucson, Ariz. - The seventh-ranked UCLA women's tennis team turned in a solid performance on the road on Saturday, posting a 6-1 victory over Arizona at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
Doubles play was very competitive, as UCLA took an 8-1 win at court No. 2, and Arizona notched an 8-6 victory at court No. 1. The point was eventually decided at court No. 3, where UCLA's Ashley Joelson and Andrea Remynse registered an 8-6 victory over Jane Huh/Ariane Masschelein.
UCLA (8-1) cruised in singles play, winning five of six matches. After both Remynse (court No. 3) and Riza Zalameda (court No. 1) took straight-set wins to give the Bruins a 3-0 lead, senior Elizabeth Lumpkin clinched the win for UCLA at court No. 4, posting a 6-0, 7-5 victory over Natalia Toporowska.
Next up for UCLA is a make-up match with No. 18 Arizona State on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. (PST).
