SEATTLE - Johnathan Franklin ran for 54 yards and one touchdown as UCLA dropped a 24-7 decision under the lights at Washington on Thursday night. The Bruins trailed 10-7 until Washington returned an interception with 6:22 remaining in the Pac-10 contest.

The Bruins held Washington to 321 total yards, as Washington quarterback Jake Locker amassed just 77 yards - 68 in the air and nine on the ground.

UCLA quarterback Richard Brehaut exited the game in the second half with a concussion after throwing for 42 yards and running for 13.

The Bruins raced to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, marching 92 yards downfield on 13 plays. Franklin put UCLA on the board with a 31-yard TD run at 5:20 in the opening frame.

Washington tied the contest, 7-7, with 5:57 to play before halftime. Locker scored a touchdown with a 3-yard run and both teams entered the locker room at intermission deadlocked, 7-7.

Leading 10-7 in the third quarter, Washington's Quinton Richardson returned an interception 28 yards for a touchdown with 6:22 left to help Washington keep its fledgling bowl hopes alive.
