No. 12 Men's Tennis Suffers Loss to No. 5 Baylor in Waco
February 22, 2015 | Men's Tennis
Things didn't go well for UCLA from the start, as it was Baylor who was able to take a 1-0 lead in the match after the Bears captured two matches in doubles play. Baylor took wins at court Nos. 2 and 3, while court No. 1 was suspended.
Straight-set victories by the Bears at court Nos. 4 and 6 quickly put the Bears up 3-0. Baylor eventually got the clinching win at the No. 1 spot, where No. 10 Julian Lenz won the battle top 10 opponents by upsetting second-ranked Mackenzie McDonald, 6-4, 6-2 to give the Bears a 4-0 win.
For their part, the Bruins were leading at two of the three suspended matches, with Dennis Mkrtchian and Martin Redlicki up at court Nos. 2 and 3, respectively.
UCLA will look to get back in the win column next week when it hosts Stanford on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
