UCLA 7th After 36 Holes at Pac-12 Championships

BOULDER, Colo. - Thirty-six holes are in the books for all but one Bruin, as UCLA battled rain, snow and freezing conditions during the first day of the Pac-12 Championships at the Boulder Country Club on Friday.
Round One
The Bruins were tied for fourth after 18 holes following a 13-over 363. Junior Tyler Collier was atop the UCLA portion of the leaderboard after an even-par 70, with sophomore Cole Madey also sitting inside the Top 15 through the first round.
Collier was tied for fourth and two shots back of the individual lead after his morning round. He balanced his books with four birdies on #5, #12, #17 and #18 to go with four bogeys.
Madey was tied for 13th following a 2-over 72. His lone birdie came on his opening hole, adding three bogeys. Junior Corey Shaun posted a 3-over 73 and was tied for 26th after 18 holes. His only birdie came on #14 to go with four bogeys.
Sophomore Patrick Murphy and freshman Hidetoshi Yoshihara were tied for 34th after one round after shooting 4-over 74s. Murphy holed out from 167 yards away on the par-4 4th for an eagle, also adding birdies on #2 and #14 and eight bogeys. Yoshihara notched a pair of birdies on #2 and #10 and six bogeys. Sophomore Phil Delisi was tied for 53rd after a non-team scoring 6-over 76. He made three birdies on the second, 12th and 17th to go with six bogeys and a triple.
Round Two
Things got even chillier during round two, as UCLA shot a +22 (372), putting them in seventh place. Collier and Madey are each tied for 10th after 36 holes.
Neither player had a birdie in less than ideal conditions during their second rounds, but kept the damage at a minimum. Madey made a bogey, a double and 16 pars for his 3-over 73, while Collier had five bogeys and 13 pars for a 5-over 75, as both are at 5-over 145 following two rounds.
Shaun is tied for 30th at +8 (148), posting a 5-over (75) in the afternoon. He tallied a pair of birdies on #1 and #6 to go with seven bogeys. Murphy also had a 75 in his second round and is at +9 (T-36, 149). He birdied his first two holes and also had five bogeys and a double. Delisi is tied for 42nd at +10 (150). His lone birdie came on #17, adding five bogeys for a 4-over 74. Yoshihara still had two holes remaining when play was suspended for darkness at 7:45 p.m. MT, but will have the Bruins' non-counting score for round two. He is 8-over through 16 holes (+12 overall), having made a birdie on #14, seven bogeys and a double.
Yoshihara will finish his second round on Saturday at 10 a.m. MT/9 a.m. PT, with the regularly-scheduled third round commencing at 12 p.m. MT/11 a.m. PT. However, snow, fog and even colder temperatures are expected. Live scoring will be available here. Live streaming will be available here.
