No. 15 Bruins Down No. 20 Ducks, 4-0

LOS ANGELES โ The No. 15 UCLA women's tennis team defeated No. 20 Oregon, 4-0, in a conference match at Los Angeles Tennis Center Sunday. Jada Hart notched her fourth clinching win of the season with a straight-set decision on Court 2.
The Bruin doubles team of Abi Altick-Ayan Broomfield jumped out to a 3-1 advantage over Rifanty Kahfiani-Alyssa Tobita on Court 2 and maintained a two-game cushion throughout most of the set. The Bruins ultimately secured a 6-3 win to take an early advantage. Alaina Miller-Ena Shibahara, meanwhile, jumped out to a 4-0 lead before surrendering three straight games to Nia Rose-Paiton Wagner of the Ducks. With each team's ranked pair knotted in a close one on Court 1, Miller-Shibahara won two of the next three games to clinch the day's opening point.

Shibahara, Miller and Hart each picked up a straight-set win in singles play to dispatch the Ducks. On the top court, No. 8 Shibahara lost just two games versus Tobita, defeating the Duck senior by a 6-1, 6-1 score. On Court 6, No. 118 Miller won her sixth straight match without losing a game, topping Paiton Wagner, 6-3, 6-1. No. 41 Hart would ultimately pull off the deciding victory with a 6-2, 6-4 straight-setter over Sangwan, leaving Courts 3, 4 and 5 unfinished.
UCLA is home again next week, as Washington State and Washington pay visits to LATC. The Bruins will take on the Cougars Saturday, March 24 (noon), before wrapping up their weekend with the Huskies Sunday (noon).
