Last Meet
UCLA hosted the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational on April 13, which saw Alyssa Wilson break a 10-year-old Drake Stadium record in the hammer.
ย
On her fifth attempt, Wilson threw 70.63m (231-8), 31 feet further than the second-place finisher, to top Jessica Cosby's (Nike) previous mark of 231 feet and five inches. This is currently the second-best mark in the NCAA. Wilson also collected wins in the discus (56.39m; 185-0) and shot put (17.10m; 56-1.25).

Wilson, along with Meleni Rodney and Tyler Janes, was recognized by the Pac-12 Conference as the Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week.ย
ย
It was also a brilliant afternoon for senior Dotun Ogundeji, who PR'ed in both the shot put and discus. His effort of 21.05m (69-0.75) in the shot put moved him to No. 4 all-time in program history and currently ranks third in the NCAA. He also won the discus with a career-best mark of 58.83m (193-0), which is good for 10th in the NCAA.
ย
In total, UCLA brought home 11 event victories.
ย
Bruins in the Polls
In week three of the USTFCCCA rankings, the UCLA men rose five spots to No. 20, earning 106.63 points. The Bruins are No. 1 in the West region. On the women's side, UCLA dropped one spot to No. 23 with 86.04 points but collected 304.98 points in the West region to climb one spot to No. 9.
ย
Next Meet
UCLA will battle crosstown rival USC in a dual meet on April 28 at Cromwell Field & Loker Track Stadium.
